Welcome to St. Mark Catholic Church Community
Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Established as a parish of the Colorado Springs Diocese on Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000,
we became St. Mark Catholic Church to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ as journeying people.
We will model the gospel of Saint Mark and make sure those considered on the “outside” of
society are truly on the “inside” of the Kingdom of God. "No one will be left in the dust."
Our motto is "We can be kind and we can take care of each other." We would be honored to have
you worship with us.
Returning God's Gifts 2010
The Returning God's Gifts 2010 Appeal supports ministries throughout the diocese and within each
of the parishes. The appeal supports; charities and social services, catholic education, vocations
and leadership, and parish programs. More information is available on the diocesan website

Parish Assessment & Renewal Project (PAR)
The Parish Assessment & Renewal Project, held a PAR Team
meeting with leadership parishioners on Saturday, January 30th, facilitated by Fr. Tom Sweetser
and Sr. Peg Bishop. Training topics included: the decision making process, sharing wisdom,
ingredients for a healthy structure, linking to ministries, and goal forming. Information
from the random surveys, Town Hall Meeting, parishioner interviews, and PAR Report were all reviewed.
Visions for the parish future were formulated. Five commissions were formed: Worship, Faith Formation,
Outreach, Community and Administration. Attendees joined these five commissions based on their
skills and areas of interest. A Pastoral Council was formed by group discernment of each commission
to provide two members. The staff and Pastor are also active in the Pastoral Council
meetings and decisions. Goals and action plans were determined for each of the five commissions.
New leadership roles were identified including: (1) Parish Coordinator - Jeremy Harris,
(2) PAR Coordinator - Dan Timmerman, and (3) Youth Coordinator - Steve Myer.
These are part-time/temporary assignments until permanent leaders can be recruited.
A comprehensive report will be provided to parishioners in the next several weeks. Please be
responsive to share your time, talents and treasure to make St Mark Parish all it can be.

Lent Traditions - Feb 10
The second annual Lenten Traditions evening will be held at 6:30 pm on Wednesday,
February 10th. A variety of activity centers will help you discover ways to make Lent more meaningful.
We'll make masks for Mardi Gras, create a family prayer journal, work on Alleluia eggs, create a circle
of gratitude beads and discover some exciting Lent/Easter recipes. Lenten resources
will be available for adults, families and children to help us on our Journey through Lent.
Renewal of Vows
The Marriage Ministry of St Mark invites you to renew your marriage vows during World Marriage Day
on Saturday, February 13th after the 4:00 pm Mass. View

RAFT and TUFF Events
RAFT and TUFF will not meet on Sunday evening February 7th. Laser Tag is scheduled for overnight
Friday, Feb 12 into Saturday, Feb 13 morning. Forms are available
outside the Youth Room or online. Cost includes all night
laser tag, pizza, soda and other munchies, but not cost for the video arcade.
The High School Youth Spring Retreat will be held the weekend of March 5-7 at the
YMCA of the Rockies near Estes Park, CO. Registration forms are available
outside the youth room or online.
Completed forms are due by February 21st.
Seder Meal- March 1
Monday, March 1st is the date for our Seder Meal. The meal is cost-free, but tickets are needed to
attend, and will be available beginning the weekend of February 6th - 7th. Save the date and get
