St Mark Catholic Church
Parish Assessment & Renewal Project

Project Purpose:

The Parish Assessment & Renewal Project will gather parishioner opinions on matters of parish life in order to develop a plan for St. Mark's future. Through this process, we believe God will reveal his plans for our faith family here at St. Mark. The project will be implemented over a 12- month period, beginning in September 2009. Watch the announcement introducing goals, timelines, committee members and consultants.

Key Thoughts:

St. Mark's 10-year anniversary seems an appropriate time to do a self-assessment and plan for the future.
  • We're a bigger and more diverse parish than we were at our founding.
  • We want St. Mark to be a relevant spiritual home for today's parishioners.
The Parish Assessment & Renewal Project will reveal God's plan for St. Mark's future, based on the needs and opinions of parishioners.
  • Parishioners will have the opportunity to express themselves through surveys and town hall meetings.
  • St. Mark staff and a core committee of parishioners are being guided through this process by Fr. Tom Sweetser, a consultant with 30 years' experience helping parishes plan for their futures.
While the specifics of St. Mark's long-term plan will be molded by parishioners, we expect the initiative to help our parish:
  • better meet parishioners' spiritual needs.
  • engage parishioners in ministries and other activities.
  • endure as a community, beyond any single pastor or administrator.
